Our Mission
To foster a love for our traditions, to empower young people through art and culture, and to provide a safe space where they can grow and express themselves freely.
"Pakilistli" comes from the native Mexica/Aztec language, Nahuatl and signifies/represents "joy" or "happiness"
This term perfectly reflects the mission of the academy: to provide a safe space where adolescents and young people can immerse themselves in the richness of our cultural traditions in a comprehensive and joyful way.

Active Participation

Logistical Support
Your experience and skills are valuable in helping your kids change costumes, creating accessories for the dancers, or being there for emotional support.

Participate in workshops and classes about folk dance, culture, and personal development, promoting shared learning between generations.
By involving parents and adults, we create a supportive environment that reinforces the holistic development of our youth. Together, we build a strong network that promotes the preservation of our traditions and the strengthening of future generations.
Additional Information
Practice Schedule
Kids/new dancers practice from 6:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. General practice is from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Kids/new dancers are welcome to stay after 7:00pm for general practice.
Tuition
Tuition is $50 a month, due by the 15th of each month, payable in person. If the 15th is not a practice day, the deadline is the nearest practice day before (e.g., Wednesday the 11th if the 15th is a Sunday).

Contact UsDress Attire
Attire includes a black uniform (long/short sweatpants, leggings, long/short-sleeved shirt), dance shoes, bandana, and water (required). Shorts must be of reasonable length. Girls/young ladies must wear hair in a bun, no exceptions. Bring your own rehearsal skirt or borrow one from the academy with a rental/loaner sheet. Be respectful and prudent during stretching, warm-ups, and interactions.
Payment
Tuition is paid in cash in person. Stop by during practice and speak with our founder — she'll take care of you and make it simple for your family!

Our History
January 2025
Our Beginnings
Pakilistli Academia emerged from humble beginnings as a small group of enthusiastic dancers meeting at a borrowed building. These initial weekly practice sessions soon blossomed into a thriving cultural institution.
June 2025
Growth & Impact
In the first half year, we've expanded from a small group of students to a vibrant community of approximately 45 dancers, supported by dedicated parents.
